Site Copyright Policy

Knowing a few basic rules of Copyright protection is in order. January 1, 1978 a major revision was made in U.S. Copyright laws and for simplicity we will look at work published before that date. As material was published 28 years of protection attached. After the 28-year period the owner of the work was entitled to a 67-year extension and renewal. The web committee maintaining this site has, as a matter of policy, adopted a worst-case scenario and assumed that all published work was granted this extension. Thus publications dates over 95 years old may be considered public domain. For more specific Copyright policy employed by this website see table link below. If you submit articles for publication on this site that contains material by others and that material was published after 1923, a release must be secured and included with your submittal. Otherwise follow the table link for guidance. With the written release or in the use of public domain materials, proper credit should be included within the articles.
